Engagement with Stakeholders

T&K TOKA conducts its business through engagement with a variety of stakeholders. We seek to increase our corporate value over the long term by proactively, effectively, and impartially disclosing corporate information and engaging in constructive dialog with stakeholders.

T&K TOKA Group's Stakeholders

Shareholders and investors

We deal with all shareholders and investors impartially, and disclose information appropriately and in a timely manner to ensure that there are no information gaps among shareholders. We also consider returns to shareholders to be an important management issue, and for the fiscal 2018 and 2019 we paid annual dividend of JPY34 per share, and for fiscal 2020, we paid annual dividend of JPY15 per share.

Customers (society)

We provide products and services to solve social challenges through dialog with our customers. By developing and providing eco-friendly products, including UV ink, for which we have the largest share of the domestic market, biomass ink, and Epoxy composition in which milled carbon fiber(MCF) are dispersed, we help our customers reduce their environmental impact.

Suppliers

We regularly conduct suppliers audit with the objective of establishing favorable relationship with them in the medium to long term. We also conduct supplier audit when commencing transaction with a new supplier in order to procure materials with a minimal impact on health and the environment, and strive to secure multiple procurement routes from the perspective of risk management.

Government agencies and industry organizations

Engagement with government agencies

The Saitama Headquarters, our main manufacturing facility, complies with the various types of ordinances in place in Saitama Prefecture, and is also registered for the Miyoshi Saitama SDGs Declaration Program adopted by Miyoshi Town, the local jurisdictional government, from fiscal 2021, to engage in greater cooperation toward achieving the SDGs.
Facilities other than the Saitama Headquarters are also engaged in business activities to contribute to the local community while complying with standards set by their local governments.

Engagement with industry organizations

The Japan Printing Ink Makers Association has defined substances with potential for use in printing ink but which cannot be used for reasons of safety and health (Negative List Regulation Substances were also included in 991 Substances Group (July 2020)).
We design products with minimal impacts on health and the environment under a basic policy of conformity to the NL Regulations. Printing ink is used for a wide variety of purposes, such as catalogs, books, tickets, containers, and packaging materials. It is used in so many products we come into contact with in our daily lives. Printing ink is a key element in ensuring the safety of these products, and thus requires a high level of safety.

Employees

We support a variety of working styles for a diverse workforce, and pursue measures to create vital workplaces. In addition to promoting a positive work-life balance, expanding job categories to promote active participation by women, and developing global human resources, we engage in proactive dialog with employees to create more accommodating workplace environments.

Local communities

Our two major manufacturing facilities – the Saitama Headquarters and the Shiga Factory – are located near residential areas, and in addition to taking countermeasures against odors and noise, we place importance on maintaining ongoing communication with these communities, including notifications of drills to be conducted in the factories. We as a company, as well as our employees, also support firework displays, festivals, and other events held by local community organizations.
From fiscal 2020 onward local events have been suspended due to the spread of COVID-19, but we still intend to proactively support and sponsor them when they restart.

Global environment

In recent years international society is beset by grave environmental problems on a global scale, such as climate change and loss of biodiversity due to global warming, and exhaustion of resources owing to rising populations. It is our belief that it is essential for us to practice management going back to our original starting point, to achieve the SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) and realize a sustainable society.
We have prioritized these issues as key challenges for us to engage with, acknowledging our social responsibility to practice sustainable business activities in harmony with the global environment. Our goals are to adapt to a low-carbon, recycling-oriented society, and to ensure proper management of chemical substances, and we are active in many activities for the sake of the environment.
In addition, we are actively developing and popularizing environmentally friendly products with the aim of contributing to lower environmental impacts through the product life cycle.
